With the transfer window closed transfer speculation is somewhat easier considering that most people won't remember who exactly said what in a few months time. So it is hardly revelatory to suggest that Michael Ballack might be experiencing climes slightly less like London's in January.
The People (09.09.07) linked Michael Ballack to Real Madrid, on the principle that the simple explanation is often best (or put it another way, it's easier to write up when you have a deadline). On Squarefootball we also recently employed Occam's razor to make this connection and it is a rumour that is not without merit.
Ballack should be fit come January, he will have no Euro cup-ties to hold him back and no doubt he will be desperate for a move. The £8m quoted for the midfielder seems a reasonable valuation for a great player who has only perhaps two or three years left at the top - and given the fact that Chelsea would be relieved of a £6m annual wage bill it would make excellent financial sense for a club vowing to get to 2010 at break-even.
Can't find any reason to suggest that this is not a reasonable valuation for the player by a club that he would like to go to. Now where's that razor got to?
